The Strood Poetical Society sanctioned the above comic strip in order to highlight the dangers of an uppity robot population.

Strood is a tough and gritty town in North Kent.

Aveling and Porter

The Strood Robots were built by Aveling and Porter in the 1930s, when the company realised that steam was dead and that they needed to diversify into a modern age.

Aveling and Porter exported robots all around the world.

When a robot was ready for export it was labelled with the, 'Aveling and Porter' brass label, which interestingly stated it was made in Rochester, unless the robot was a reject and it was labelled, Made In Strood.

Rejected by Society

All Strood Robots have been rejected and consequently have issues with their mental health.

The Murdering Computer

It is rumoured that Aveling and Porter also built the 'Murdering Computer' that was used in the government's mind-reading experiments in the 1960s.

Rede School

When Rede School opened in 1969, its first Headmaster was a Strood Robot.

My Finger Poked through the Toilet Paper

The last Strood Robot was built in 1939 and was conscripted into the British army when war was declared by the British Government.
